Dimethyl phthalate (DMP) a plasticizer with strong solvency for a variety of resins, compatible with a variety of cellulose resins, rubber, vinyl resins. It has good film-forming property, adhesion and water repellency. Usually used with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate films, varnishes, transparent paper and molding powders, etc. Small amount is used in the production of nitrocellulose.
Application
Uses:
DMP is a kind of plasticizer with strong solvency power for many kinds of resins. It is soluble with many kinds of cellulose resins, rubber and vinyl resins, and has good film-forming, adhesion and waterproofing properties. It is often used with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate film, varnish, transparent paper and molding powder. It is used in small amounts in the production of nitrocellulose. It can also be used as plasticizer for nitrile glue. It is also used as a solvent for mosquito repellent oil (raw oil), polyvinyl fluoride coating, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and DDT.
